Rex graduated from Indiana University in 1979 and received an MBA in finance from St. John's University - New York in 1982. Rex was the senior manager for the Indiana University basketball team from 1975 through 1978, including the undefeated 1976 NCAA National Championship team. He has one daughter, Hilary, 18.
Rex received 2 transportation certificates from Dr. Ed Marien at the University of Wisconsin, Madison (2003 & 2008). He has also received certificates in Project Management, Business Administration and Professional Management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University (2004-2005) and was awarded the Certified Logistics Professional (CLP) certification from the IWLA, the Certified Transportation Broker (2007) from the TIA and the Logistics Professional Certification (2005) and Supply Chain Certificate (2009) from Georgia Tech.
Rex and is a member of WERC, CSCMP, NASSTRAC, TIA and a board member of the NCLC .
